Amy Winehouse

Today would have been Amy Winehouse's 29th birthday. Her talent was immeasurable and her voice was fantastic it transmitted so much  passion and emotion. Her songs were raw and brutally honest and what I loved about her was how genuine she was. There was nothing fake about her and I'm just sad I never got to see her live she is my favorite female artist of my generation. Today I wanted to remember her by posting some of my favorite pics of hers never mind all of her public meltdowns and personal problems I want to remember her for the amazing artist she was. Her personal style was all hers the beehive, the pink ballet slippers, and the feminine dresses. I also loved her exaggerated eyeliner and her trademark tattoos. She was one of a kind.

Amy Winehouse

I was saddened by the news that Amy Winehouse was found dead at her home in London.  She was such a talented artist it's a shame that she died at age 27. I have been a huge fan of hers for years regardless of her highly publicized personal problems. I'm sad that I never got to see her perform live.

I remember buying this issue of Rolling Stone when I saw it on a newsstand back in 2007. I still have it and have read it a few times over the years. Here is one of my favorite songs by her Love is a Losing Game. May she rest in peace.
