The Resort 2013 collections are in and here are a few of my favorite looks of the season. I want to start with Phoebe Philo at Celine whose work has been consistent with the designs and is building a signature style for the brand. I especially love the scarf print shorts and the wide leg trousers she presented this season. Over at Alexander McQueen I liked the seventies-style trouser suits that elongated the legs and Deco era dresses. Narciso Rodriguez presented sophisticated color-blocking designs. At Roland Mouret there were ladylike figure hugging dresses in neon colors and floral prints. Nina Richi's collection had a younger girly feel to it with pastel hues and pretty dresses.
Anna Wintour finally came to her senses and put Emma Stone on the cover for US Vogue's July issue. And I couldn't be happier to see an actress on the cover who not only can act but also has style. As for the cover itself she looks pretty wearing a Nina Ricci dress and sporting blonde hair. And although I do like the styling in the accompanying editorial it's all over the place. On one hand she is in menswear inspired suits and on the other she's wearing sexy feminine dresses.
I really like this editorial that Erin did for ES Magazine. She looks gorgeous like always and I really like the styling. They kept it simple and accessorised each look with bracelets, rings, and a Chanel necklace. My favorite pieces of clothing being the Givenchy tuxedo jacket on the cover and the white maxi dress by Acne she wearing on the fourth pic.
I love this feminine lace embroidered dress by Dolce & Gabbana that Dree wore to the Veuve Clicquot Classic. Which she paired with an Isabel Marant wedge. What I like about the dress is that even though it has long sleeves and a long skirt it's see through and a bit sexy. Perfect for those rare breezy summer days.
Kate's style has been amazing as of late. Weather she's posing on the red carpet or being photographed walking down the street. I feel that she does casual in such an effortless way that not many people can pull off. She epitomize's that in this outfit. Pairing an H&M top with Chloe shorts and kept the accessories to a minimum. And that Jason Wu bag is to die for.
Karl Lagerfeld held an exhibition for his new book,"The Little Black Jacket" on Wednesday night. And the red carpet for the event was fab. Lily Donaldson looked so effortlessly chic and wore my favorite look of the night. Freja always looks cool in her signature head to toe black. And both Dree and Joan looked great in Chanel.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen won the Womenswear Designer of the Year award at this years CFDA awards. They have truly come a long way form designing teen clothing for mass market stores to their luxury line The Row. As for the red carpet the twins looked great in their own designs. My other favorite looks of the night came from Joan in Michael Kors, Kate in Altuzarra, and Karen in Proenza Schouler.
I am completely obsessed with this pretty floral print dress Kate Bosworth was seen wearing around L.A. yesterday. Everything in this look just works for me. From the sexy slits in the dress, the brown leather bag, and that pretty necklace. Not to mention those awesome Isabel Marant booties that tie the whole look in. And just in time for some summer wardrobe inspiration.
